I'm both a web designer/developer for hire as well as a buyer at oDesk.

I have been freelancing part-time since 2000, but in the summer of 2008, I relocated out of state for a job. Unfortunately, 2 weeks after I had signed the lease to the new place and had already paid the first month's rent and deposit, that new job disappeared.

I turned to oDesk in search of "cushion money" in between jobs, but I haven't set foot in an office since.

About this site

This site was started after having answered many questions in the oDesk Community Forums by new freelancers. I wanted to have a place where I could post answers to common questions, and point people to these answers if necessary. My personal blog was too random and topic-less, and the information would get lost in a sea of nonsensical blabbering – thus, a new site was born.

While I talk about oDesk a lot, most of the information and opinions presented here can be applied in any freelancing situation.
